Standard Mail Proposed Rates Rejected by Postal Regulatory Commission

without comments

As reported by MFSA:

The PRC has issued a decision on the Postal Service’s proposed rates for Market-Dominant products.

The commission approved all proposed price and classification changes EXCEPT for Standard Mail. Stating that the proposed prices for Standard Mail flats failed to conform to the PRC’s directives to move those rates closer to 100% cost coverage, it remanded ALL Standard Mail rates back to the USPS. The PRC noted that there would still be time for those rates to be adjusted, refiled, and reviewed again by the commission in time for the planned 1/27/2013 implementation date.

Thanks goes to Leo Raymond, MFSA, for providing this breaking news.
