Reason #142 why the USPS needs mail service providers. The Postal Service is good at delivery, but not so much when it comes to customer service. Too concerned about regulations (even ones that make no sense) and SOX compliance, and willing to spend $100 in order to “protect” $1 worth of revenue. Penny wise and pound foolish, with no service savvy. 

Mail Service Providers recognize the Service part of taking care of customers – ensuring they are repeat customers. Bad service drives mail out of the mainstream.  Unnecessarily.
