Observations on the USPS Annual Report

without comments

There are many colorful pictures scattered throughout the report.  There are 14 pictures of packages, package processing, and package delivery.

There is 1 picture that contains an image of a letter…in the background, behind a guy opening packages.

There are zero pictures of catalogs, magazines, newspapers, etc.

There is an entry on MTAC, the Mailer’s Technical Advisory Committee – a hardworking group of USPS and industry representatives working collaboratively, with many accomplishments in 2014, celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2015. The write up consists of one sentence.

Makes me wonder if this is an indication of what the USPS values, what they consider to be important.  Apparently, unless you are packages, you aren’t worth much.  If anything.

UPDATE:  I was just prompted by a reader to go check out Dead Tree Edition’s post from late last night.  Um…apparently great minds think alike, and we are on to something?
