USPS Pricing Finalized (for now)

From an Industry Alert:

The prices as posted on Postal Explorer are now final for the January 26, 2014 implementation.  The prices can be accessed at pe.usps.com.  They are listed under the “January 2014 Price Change Information” header.

Yes folks, it is January 8th.  So code your software, and forgo any quality control processes, because there is no time to do it right.  Just do it.  We can fix it with patch releases and workarounds.  Just cross your fingers.

Commissioner Mark Acton Named PRC Vice Chairman

Washington, DC-   Effective January 1, 2014, the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) voted unanimously to designate Commissioner Mark Acton as Vice Chairman of the PRC, succeeding Commissioner Robert Taub. PRC regulations provide that the Commissioners elect a member to serve as Vice Chairman for a term of one year.

SOX Makes Things Worse, Not Better

Something called the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 pretty much forced her to send your XBox One back to Best Buy if it lacked a box number. Like most every well-intentioned federal law, the SOX Act was intended “to improve corporate governance and enhance the accuracy of…” blah, blah, blah. What it actually does is cost the USPS more money because they foot the bill to make sure the package gets back to the shipper.
