Preliminary Comments on USPS “Load Leveling”

without comments

Many retail mailers use the USPS Standard mail offerings to announce tightly choreographed sale dates, and other timed offers.  Much of this mail is targeted for delivery on Mondays and Tuesdays.  Since the USPS is more about saving money than providing the services their customers need, the brilliant solution is to change the service standards so the mail is less reliable, and less predictable.  Oh, and costs more – on the heels of a CPI price increase and an exigent price increase.

USPS, without customers, yes, all your problems and money issues will go away.  The Postal Service will no longer exist, however.

Congress – show us a miracle in 2014 and do your jobs.  The USPS needs some action, not more talk.

Mailers, and the mailing industry – and this is supremely important – COMMENT TO THE PRC on this filing!  Individuals, in addition to associations, need to give the Postal Regulatory Commission the information they need in order to make an informed Advisory Opinion on Load Leveling.  Whining to ourselves isn’t going to help.  Follow the proper channels, and ask for help if needed.
