Labor Day 2013 – The History of Labor Day

without comments

Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.

I’m a child of manufacturing, and started my career path as an apprentice in the bindery at RR Donnelley.  (back when women bindery stitcher operators were few and far between!)  Labor Day represents my ancestry in America, a long line of working people.  Hats off to you all, thank you for all you do, on this Labor Day 2013!
