Newspapers And The Postal Service, Both Struggling For Survival, Wage War On Each Other – International Business Times

Forget chivalry. In a sinking ship, it’s every man for himself — or so a new battle between two bastions of old media would suggest.

The USPS has been using “this difficult economy” as an excuse to make policy changes that only a short while ago they would have shot down – in the spirit of those very changes as being unethical and unfair.

“Times are tough” is a lame excuse – times are tough for all of us, and wrong is still wrong, regardless.  Tough times doesn’t make stealing ok.  I find it unsettling that the PRC ruled in favor, regardless of fair competition, or a level playing field.  By approving this Negotiated Service Agreement, the PRC is encouraging, indirectly, more misguided and inappropriate action (EDDM anyone?) by the USPS monopoly.  It’s worrisome.  USPS “Partners” – beware.
