Mail slowdown: Some area residents just now receiving holiday catalogs, ads | CharlotteObserver.com & The Charlotte Observer Newspaper.

I’ve been working closely with the USPS folks in this area, from HQ on down.  I think mailers will see changes for the better in this area very quickly.

Super Bowl Ripple Effect

without comments

A communication from the USPS gives everyone a head’s up to mailers who will be sending to the Indianapolis area around Super Bowl time, see below.  I expect that the proximity of the processing plant and the added security necessary for an event like the Super Bowl will probably slow things down a little.

This came from our local USPS Business Service representative, a valuable resource –

I wanted to make you aware of operational changes that will be taking place at the Indianapolis Processing and Distribution Center P&DC to accommodate planned activities associated with Super Bowl XLVI, and necessary security requirements.  The Indianapolis P&DC facility is located directly right beside Lucas Oil Stadium, site of this year’s Super Bowl.

Contingency plans are being implemented so that service disruptions are minimized.  Customers can expect the following:

  • Drop Shipments – Drop shipments are being redirected to the Indianapolis Mail Processing Annex (7451 Tempelhof Drive Ste A, 46241) beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, January 30th through 8:00 a.m. on Monday, February 6th.  Adjustments have been made in FAST and customers with recurring appointments are encouraged to review their schedules and make any needed adjustments.
  • Possible Service Delays – It is anticipated that there will be some modest service impacts for mail destined for 460-469, 472-475, 478, 479.  Contingency plans are being implemented to minimize these impacts.  Mailers are encouraged to plan accordingly to meet needed in-home dates.

We are working diligently to ensure these disruptions have minimal impacts on our customers.
