Official Confirm Service Announcement
From the USPS Confirm User Group:
Yesterday a press release was made regarding the continuation of POSTNET barcodes for automation rates beyond May 2011 and new pricing set to take effect April 17, 2011. Some questions have arisen from the announcement and below you should find clarification with regards to the announcement and its impact on CONFIRM subscribers.
• The new price sheet used “mail owner” in the columns where it should have stated “Subscription.” A correction to the pricing website will occur later today. Other than the stated price change per subscription level, there are no other changes to how CONFIRM operates today.
• POSTNET usage has been extended for automation rates beyond May 2011 and an end date was not announced.
• CONFIRM subscribers using PLANET barcodes will also be allowed to continue using the PLANET barcode beyond May 2011.
• CONFIRM subscribers who have already transitioned to the IMb are encouraged to continue using the IMb. Please do not reactivate a PLANET Code subscriber ID in your system if you have already discontinued its use.
• If you have any questions, please contact USPS-National Customer Support Center Confirm Customer Assistance via email at Confirm@usps.gov
• No change to the current use of EMD
A formal announcement will be included in the DMM
