New Agreement for USPS Business Services Administrators

Communication that came out today from the USPS, to all current Business Services Administrator on the Business Customer Gateway…

The USPS® has revised the online agreement which describes the terms and conditions for the use of USPS computing systems and Business Customer Gateway online services. In order to maintain access to Business Customer Gateway services, existing Business Services Administrators (BSAs) will be required to accept the new agreement between November 1 and December 15, 2010. Move Update Advisement Policy Changes

USPS Move Update Mailer Advisement Policy was recently updated.
(Updated September 2010)

Updates include:

Verification Threshold:
“A mailing with a score below 70% will fail the verification if there are also more than 5 pieces with COAs that were not updated by the mailer. Effective Jan 2, 2011, the passing score will be revised to 75% (tolerance 25%).”

Extension of the exception for Combined Multi-Client Mailings
“This exception will be allowed for one year from the date of implementation of the Move Update verification. This exception has been extended to January 4, 2012. The verification results calculation for a combined multi-client mailing will be the same as stated for all other mailings. However, a mailer submitting a combined multi-client mailing that fails the Move Update verification may have additional postage attributed to individual clients…”  see full doc for conditions

PostalOne! Release 24

PostalOne!® Release 24.1.3 (September 19, 2010): PostalOne! Release 24.1.3 will be deployed to production on September 19 during the scheduled maintenance window of 4:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. (CST). Release 24.1.3 will also be deployed to Test Environment for Mailers (TEM) on Monday, September 20, between 4:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. (CST). The release notes have been posted on RIBBS® under PostalOne! Release 24.1.3 notes.

System Outages

Per the DMM Advisory:

usps.com Server Outages (September 18 and September 19): There will be an outage of all usps.com servers over the weekend beginning September 18. The outage on Saturday, September 18, will occur from 2:00 a.m. – 4:00 a.m. (CST). The outage on Sunday will occur during the normal maintenance window of 4:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. (CST).

Mail Data Quality Reports Outage (September 19, 2010): Mail Data Quality Reports will be unavailable on Sunday, September 19, 2010, from 4:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. (CST) due to a system upgrade. There will be no additional outage/impact to the PostalOne! system.

PCC Day

Blogging live today from National PCC Day event in New York City.  Listening to a presentation on the January 2011 USPS Pricing Changes proposal.  Other presentations scheduled for later today include “Best Kept Secrets of the NCSC”, a presentation on the Business Customer Gateway, and of course Postmaster General John Potter’s Satellite Broadcast at noon.
