USPS Outages and Patches

All kinds of patches and outages occurring in the next couple of weeks.

Not listed in the Advisory, but communicated by the Confirm department:
On Sunday, July 25th, 2010 starting at 3:30AM Central time – 2:00PM Central time, our data database management team will initiate a planned system outage. During this time period, the transmission of Confirm data into your account and access to the Mail Tracking & Reporting  website will be unavailable. Upon completion of the outage period, any data that has been processed will be transmitted to your account and access to the MTR website will resume without further interruptions.

Per the DMM Advisory:

PostalOne! Server Patching (July 25, 2010): The PostalOne! production and Testing Environment for Mailers (TEM) application servers will have security patches applied during the scheduled maintenance window of 4:00 a.m. through 8:00 a.m. (CDT) on Sunday, July 25, 2010. The PostalOne! system (including FAST OPS web services) will be unavailable for internal and external users during this period.

Retirement of FAST Web Services (July 31, 2010): FAST Web Services (Mail.XML 4.0) will be retired on July 31, 2010. All customers have migrated to either FAST Mail.XML 8.0 or FAST Mail.XML 6.0.

Mail Data Quality Reports Outage (August 1, 2010): Mail Data Quality Reports will be unavailable on Sunday, August 1, 2010, from 4:00 a.m. – 12 Noon (CDT) due to a system upgrade. There will be no additional outage/impact to the PostalOne! system.

FAST Release 14.3.0 and Scheduled Outages (August 15-16, 2010):FAST Release 14.3.0 will deploy to the production environment on Sunday, August 15, 2010. The FAST Production system will not be available from 4:00 a.m. through 8:00 a.m. (CDT) on Sunday, August 15, 2010.

FAST Release 14.3.0 deploy to the TEM on Monday, August 16, 2010. The FAST TEM system will not be available from 8:00 a.m. through 12 Noon (CDT) on Monday, August 16, 2010.

The House postal oversight subcommittee on Wednesday approved legislation to stabilize the finances of the Postal Service by reversing billions of dollars overpaid by USPS into the government’s civil service pension fund and shifting those payments to satisfy future retiree health benefit obligations.
