FAST Connectivity Restored

Per the USPS FAST team, the FAST outage from this morning is over, service is restored.

Even if an outage is of short duration, it can be very disruptive.  Mailer contingency plans need to be worked out in advance in case of an outage.

From the USPS FAST team this morning:

Please be advised that the external on-line mailer view of FAST (via the USPS Business Customer Gateway) is currently not available. The FAST application support team is aggressively working to resolve this issue.
Customer should contact Postal facilities directly to schedule FAST appointments until connectivity is restored. Users will be notified via eMail when FAST is available.
Note that FAST Web Services and the FAST TEM environments are also impacted.

System outages and downtime for USPS systems such as FAST and PostalOne! contribute to making Full Service Intelligent Mail such a difficult proposition for many mailers.  Switching back and forth between paper and manual systems and online systems wreaks havoc.
